Are you passionate about promoting students' health, development, and learning to help them achieve educational goals? Then you might be the one we are looking for! We are currently seeking a counselor to work at Resursskolan and Väse school.

Resource schools are units with small student groups, high staff density, and adapted learning environments. Resource schools cater to students in grades 4–9 who have extensive needs for special support to succeed in their schooling. Väse school is a small school with approximately 140 students from preschool class to grade 6, as well as an after-school program. Our school is a school for everyone. We work to create accessible learning environments where students receive guidance, stimulation, and support to reach as far as possible in their knowledge and personal development. The position is a fixed-term employment for the academic year 25/26.

Responsibilities

All children and young people should receive the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development, to develop as far as possible according to educational goals based on their own conditions. In your role as a counselor, you will be part of the student health team and are expected to collaborate and contribute with your expertise. We know that the profession of counselor plays an important role in students' well-being and learning. The work also includes collaborating with guardians and other actors such as social services, primary care, and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP). In your role, you will also have contact with students through counseling support and educational initiatives. There is a network for counselors within the school that you will also be part of and are expected to contribute to.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer. Experience working with children and youth is an advantage.

You have a good ability to work independently, plan, and communicate both verbally and in writing. Being flexible and enjoying working in various contexts is important, as you will be working in an organization where you have many different relationships. It is essential that you can establish a trusting relationship with both students and guardians to support students towards development and well-being.
